Wipe down the grout with hot water to remove any dirt or grime
-
Spray a grout cleaning solution on the grout. We find that a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water in a spray bottle works great!
-
Spray the grout and allow the solution to sit for 5 minutes, then scrub it off with a tooth brush or other scrub tool. For extra scrubbing power we find a electric toothbrush to work very well! *DO NOT USE A METAL BRUSH! This will damage your grout!*
-
Rise the grout thoroughly with hot water once you’ve finished scrubbing.
If your are scrubbing porous tiles (like marble), please use a less acidic mixture to clean with – we recommend using 1/3 peroxide 2/3 baking soda with a toothbrush.
Sandpaper also can remove stains from grout. Crease the paper in half and move it back and forth within the grout lines. Rinse with hot water and repeat.
Once your done cleaning your grout lines, it would be smart to use a silicone base grout sealer to protect your lines from stains and dirt moving forward. We recommend re-sealing your grout every 2 years or so – especially in high traffic areas!
